We want you to come away from this art holiday having the best possible time. To that end be aware that our Drawn to Bali holidays involve some walking, stairs, crossing busy streets and drawing outdoors. You should be comfortable with your level of fitness and health to do this unaided in a tropical environment. Please approach the workshop with a willingness to share your work and discuss it with other people and to try new things and above all have fun and the best learning can happen.
The important stuff...
The important, but boring stuff
If you still have any questions about Drawn to Bali or your suitability to participate they will probably be answered here.
So read the following FAQ section. If you are still not sure or simply want to touch base with the organisers contact us.
1. Bookings, deposits and payments
Feel free to contact us if you have any queries or doubts about the workshop/holiday. All bookings are to be made via the website: but if you have difficulty with that do not hesitate to contact us.
A $100 non-refundable Reservation Ticket for all bookings is due to reserve your place on the trip. You then combine the Reservation Ticket with the appropriate ticket type that suits your travel experience i.e. Partner Non-Workshop Ticket, Twin Share Workshop Ticket or Workshop Ticket.
The balance of payment is due 90 days prior to the start date of your workshop. Rooms will only be allocated once the full payment is received on a first come, first served basis. You may pay in full anytime if you wish to have preference in the room allocation.
Rooms are allocated on first paid basis once your full payment is received. We will try to accommodate your requests where possible. All rooms are non-smoking, though most have balconies where you can smoke. Partners will have queen or double rooms. Twin share rooms have two single beds (though may contain other arrangements i.e. a double and single). If you wish to share with someone we will seek to accommodate your preferences.
You may wish to arrive early or stay later . We will provide the contacts details of our accommodation provider for these purposes. Of course we recommend staying longer and seeing as much of Bali and the surrounding islands.

This is Bali. Usually things work but occasionally they don’t. Consequently we reserve the right to change things as necessary. We’ve always got alternative locations, artists and models of equal quality in reserve, so your trip won’t suffer.
2. Travel Insurance
Likewise, this is Bali. We strongly encourage you to take out travel insurance for the entire length of your stay. Please make sure you have travel insurance in place to cover you for sickness or accident.
3. Minimum number of participants and alternate ticket types
We need a minimum number of workshop participants to proceed with any workshop. Your workshop/holiday will be confirmed 90 days out from the proposed start. It is strongly advisable to wait for our confirmation before you purchase your airfares. Each workshop is limited to a maximum of 15 participants, though there may be a number of non-drawing partners that make up the overall group for shared dinners, breakfasts, etc.
Can I bring my partner?
Partners who do not wish to participate in the workshop are welcome to come. On days when we are travelling away from Ubud they are welcome to join us and our drivers will be happy to show them other sites in the region while we get down to drawing. They are also welcome at performances and events where we will be drawing and the group meals. The rest of the time they are free to entertain themselves.
There is no shortage of things to do around Ubud from lying around the pool and drinking cocktails, to having a massage, to exploring the island with one of our drivers. These things are not included in their booking. Though we do recommend them.
5. Alterations to the tour itinerary/ instructors
This is Bali. Usually things work but occasionally they don’t. Consequently we reserve the right to change things as necessary. We’ve always got alternative locations or people, etc of quality in reserve, so neither your trip, or learning experience, will suffer.
6. Refunds and Cancellations:
Please give us as much notice as possible if you cannot make the trip. Deposits are nonrefundable. We need to secure accommodation well ahead of time. Thus we cannot refund deposits. If you give more than 90 days notice we can transfer your deposit to another trip with us within 18 months of the one you are cancelling.
If for some reason we need to cancel your workshop/holiday your workshop payments will be refunded in full.
7. Pre/post holiday accommodation
We recommend spending as much time as you can in Indonesia. Bali and Lombok offer amazing island experiences and Java is only a short flight away. Additionally there are some amazing drawing groups in Java as well as modern art galleries. We are happy to offer advise and help you add to your holiday.
8. Confidentiality of information
Drawn to Bali will not sell your information to anyone. We will not share your information with anyone beyond what is necessary for the smooth running of the workshop e.g. accommodation, drivers etc.
10. Your Responsibilities
11. Care Statement
Money: All figures on the website are in Australian dollars and all payments need to be made prior to departure as specified in the booking form.
Extras: You’ll get a much better rate by exchanging Australian dollars in Bali. Alternatively, there are plenty of CBA and other ATMs to withdraw from your Australian account. Massages and cocktails are about $10, food anywhere from $3 (street market) to $50 for a meal. There are plenty of cheap options to explore.
Climate: Drawn to Bali workshops happen in the dry season in Ubud, but it can still rain. Temperatures average 22 - 30 C with humidity. Many people in tropical climates carry a small hand towel to mop up the sweat. It's also good to have a small hand towel in your kit to keep your paper dry. We have alternate drawing spots that allow us to handle the odd afternoon shower and the hotel pool is perfect to cool off in!
