Day 1
Saturday - arrival and afternoon workshop

Arrive in Denpasar at Bali Airport (Ngurah Rai) and make your way to our accommodation in Ubud.  Check-in and relax. We'll start our first workshop on site at the hotel drawing the figure in the traditional costumes of Bali session 2 - 5 pm. A chance to really explore the people and wonderful costumes of Bali and get your eye in. Then from 7 pm we'll have a welcome dinner at Café Wayan.

Day 3
Monday - Tegalalang Rice Terrace and Sewatu Temple 

We'll start with a shared breakfast and briefing at hotel (you may be sensing a pattern here) before meeting our drivers, who will take us to Pura Gunung Kawi Sebatu water temple. We'll look at urban sketching the water temples features with a jungle backdrop. There's also amazing ponds filled with fish and sculptures to draw. For the adventurous you'll also have a chance to plunge into the cold, clear waters in the adjoining public bath. 

After Sebatu, it's a short drive to the Tegalalang RiceTerraces. Then after our lasst workshop we'll head back and be back early evening so you can find some dinner and relax.

Day 2
Sunday - Sketch walk and Balinese art 

After a shared breakfast and briefing we'll go for a rice terrace sketch walk. You have some free time to find lunch before we head to the Neka Art Museum to draw some of the amazing  sculptures there and experience some Indonesian art. You're evening is free to relax, find dinner and see what the Ubud night life has to offer.

Day 6
Thursday - Street views and dancers

It's a morning of urban sketching the street views and hustle and bustle today from a great vantage point. Then relax for the afternoon before we head off for a night sketch at another dance performance.

Day 7
Friday - Breakfast with orangutans and zoo sketch

This is our last formal day and it's a real treat! We'll go to Bali Zoo where you'll enjoy a long breakfast with the opportunity to sketch orangutans, elephants and, of course, people. Your afternoon is free but we'll meet again before dinner to have a portfolio viewing and discussion. Then join us for a cocktail and goodbye dinner at Cafe Lotus.

Day 8
Saturday - departure day

Have a sleep in and enjoy your last breakfast at the hotel. This is your departure day. If you are leaving late you might like to join us at Pranoto's art gallery for a bit of life drawing before you go.

Day 4
Tuesday - Monkey Forrest
and Balinese dance 

After a shared breakfast and briefing at hotel we're off to the Monkey Forest to draw the statues and monkeys. Plenty of green here if you're planning to paint and you'll also need to keep an eye on your brush!

Your afternoon free so relax and have an early dinner as we're off to see some amazing Balinese dancers. The costumes and performance in a temple setting are a sight to behold. You'll be drawing it!

Day 5
Wednesday - Goa Gajah
and life drawing

After breakfast we'll engage in more figure drawing to build your understanding of the structure and function of the human form (this will help you to more confidently draw people in everyday life) and then a shared lunch.  Then after lunch, visit Goa Gajah (Elephant Grotto) and draw the amazing cave entrance. There's also some ruins and a waterfall a little farther down in the temple complex as subject matter. Your evening is free and you've earned it after a full day of drawing.

To this end, we share a breakfast each morning and have a daily briefing where you"ll be informed of any adjustments.
